What a fantastic weekend we had last week. We had a few of our Nippers compete at the very first Medibank Ocean Swim Run and the Medibank Wave Warriors Junior Challenge. In true Wave Warriors style the day was full of fun events, happy kids, flash mob dancing and Nutigrain Iron Men hamming it up for the crowd. Congratulations to Cooper Tate, Stirling Crawford, Bree-Anne Wihlborg and Claudia Crawford who all performed exceptionally well, but a special mention must be made to Simon Tate who took out the prize for the best Dad dancing. A great time was had by all and I know my two especially enjoyed had a great time making new friends with  athletes from SLS Clubs from Western Australia, Tasmania and Townsville.

Sunday was another glorious day on the beach for the Nipper crew and  even though we have only had a few Sundays our Nippers are looking like seasoned professionals. Well as seasoned as a six year old can get.Thank you to our fantastic Age Managers and the overall camaraderie of the Nippers for creating that Caba Vibe of Friendship and encouragement. One of my favorite saying is, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement, Nothing can be done without hope and confidence”. And on that note, well done to Finn Whitney from the Under14’s who was selected as one of only 5  from the FNC to attend the SLSNSW Junior Development Camp on the Northern Beaches over the holidays. This was previously known as the Talented Athlete program and is a great achievement for our young superstar.

JAC and Age Managers course at Shelly Beach and a Junior Committee meeting at 1pm on Saturday and Pool proficiency this Sunday at TRACS Murwillumbah. Come prepared for some fun and don’t forget your sunscreen and Burleigh CYC water bottle.
