Weekly Wrap 9th October

posted 11 Oct 2013, 16:27 by Admin at CabaSLSC

Hey Everyone,

Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend, it was gorgeous down here at Caba with lots of sunshine and people out and about enjoying the beach.  We have had an unbelievable amount of whale action the last couple of weeks, with lots of mothers teaching their young calves all the ins and outs.  Check out the pic on our Facebook Page taken by Patrolling Member Charlie just this weekend.

You must be all wondering why you are getting the Weekly Wrap at the beginning of the week, with the recent changes to the Office Hours I am no longer around at the end of the week and as I am getting older tend to forget come Friday Afternoon,  so you will now get a Wrap Up of the weekends events on a Monday.  With that being said, Office Hours will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am to 4pm and Monday by appointment only.

A huge thank you must go out to our Youth Members who helped out with Camp Charge last weekend, from where I was sitting on the beach, all the participants looked like they were having a fantastic time.  I would particularly like to thank Ryan Andrews and Jodie Muir who put so much time and effort into this Camp, they did an awesome job.  For any of our Under 13s or Under 14s who missed this one, dont worry too much as this first camp was a test run for future camps, so you will get an opportunity to attend in the future.

Another huge thank you to returning Member Elke Raftery who has taken over the editing of the Caba Curl for me, Elke is always on the lookout for interesting stories and tidbits, so please make sure you email her abacurl@cabaslsc.org.au

Patrolling Members and their families, there will be a sausage sizzle on Saturday Afternoon 12th October from 3pm, this is a great chance for new and returning members to either meet or catch up, so we hope you can make it.

Our Annual Halloween Party is on again this year Friday 25 October, so mark this date in your Calendar, more information will follow.

Nippers returns this Sunday, 8.45am Roll Call for a 9am start on the beach.  Any Nippers that have not yet returned their swim proficiency forms please bring them this weekend.  We also need all chocolate money returned this Sunday.  For any families that missed our initial Sign On, we are doing a chocolate drive to assist with fundraising.  We still have around 40 boxes to chocolates to hand out to families, so if you have not yet taken one, please collect one this weekend.  Any families that would like to sell more, please also come and collect.
