Nippers - Training Tomorrow's Lifesavers Today

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year Celebration with their families and friends. Congratulations to our Caba Crew who competed  in December at their first Fastest Man on Sand Competition at Kurrawa with results that made QLD sit up and take notice. Reef Sommerville (U13) came 4th in the sprint and 3rd in flags, Claudia Crawford (Ex Nipper -U15)  came 1st in sprints and 6th in flags and Stirling Crawford (U12) came 7th in sprints. This competitions is purely beach events and it attracts the best sand athletes from all over NSW and is also utilised as one of the  events for the Australian Life Saving Team beach selection. Round 2 of the FMOS series is on Saturday 16th January at Coolangatta and I for one can't wait to take a Caba team to it.

Thank you to all  our SRC’s who are putting all their skills into action. Well done guys! The beach has been enormously busy over this period and the teamwork with our patrols have meant we have had a very safe and successful beach.

Nippers is back in action this Sunday so don’t forget your caps, CYC Burleigh water bottles, sunscreen and a 8:45am start. Age managers will be confirming your commitment to  NSW SLS Country Championships at South West Rocks in February and for the Lennox Heads carnival on the 17th of this month.

Thank you to the U14s who have posted Take 3 posters all around our Village. I’m am certain your message is being shared and appreciated by by the community.  project manager Sarah Beard visited last week and was blown away by the achievements of our Nippers. Well done.

See you all on the beach
