Weekly Wrap 3rd March 2011

posted 2 Mar 2012, 19:23 by Admin at CabaSLSC
Hey Everyone,

I would firstly like to congratulate all the Juniors that competed at Branch Championships last weekend.  There was some very trying conditions and a relocation to another beach which proved strategically challenging, however in true Caba form we did it with ease.  Thank you to all the Age Managers, Officials and Water Safety, without you volunteering the kids would not be able to compete.  A special thank you to Les and Ellen Patience for all their organising, it is greatly appreciated.  Lastly, thank you to all the Caba Competitors, whether you were winning gold, trailing the pack or just overcoming your fears, you all did the Club so proud and the team atmosphere was awesome.   It was great to also see the parents not only cheering on or assisting their own kids but also others.  What a great Caba family.

Best of luck to those competing at State Champs this weekend, I was down there yesterday and it is a pretty huge event.  It was great to see so many Caba caps floating through the crowd and I look forward to hearing all the  results at the wrap up tomorrow afternoon.

I received an email during the week from Grumpy # 5 of the Boaties Patrol who has laid down the challenge to all the other Patrols for the upcoming Patrol championships.   They are already claiming victory to the boat races, those up in the bar not down on the beach that is.  Why am I not surprised.

If you see Leticia Gillard and Jodie Wihlborg on the beach doing some strange sort of actions, it is a new signalling system they have derived whilst officialling to work out how their kids are doing in events without yelling across the beach.  It is very interesting the action they use to differentiate between boys and girls.  Next time you run into one of them, ask them to demonstrate, definitely worth the laughs.
