Weekly Wrap 27th July 2012

posted 26 Jul 2012, 23:18 by Admin at CabaSLSC
Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the lack of Weekly Wraps over the past few weeks, between holidays and illness I just couldn’t get my act together.    I do have to say however little has changed whilst I was away, our Bar Captain does have a little less hair and is sporting a knee injury, but he still can’t pick a footy game to save his life and still needs a ladder to reach the top shelf in the fridge, so I guess I didn’t miss much.

Don't forget we are still running Poker here on Friday Nights, starting at 7.30pm, $15.00 per head, Cafe has dinner specials available for players. This is fun poker, so beginners welcome. Footy is also played on the big screen.

Whilst it feels like the Season has just ended we are now in full swing again getting ready for Sign On for the upcoming season.  So set the following dates in your Calendar.  Patrolling Members and Active Helpers  26th August, Nippers 9th and 16th September.

Junior Training  is up and running again on a Sunday Morning from 9.30, water bottle and wetsuit recommended as the water is nice and chilly.    The date for Cudgen Classic has been set for 27th October, there is a link from the Cudgen Surf Club website for more information.

Our Under 18 Captains are trying to drum up Competitors for the upcoming 12-19 Carnival being held here on 28th October.  If you or your children wish to compete, please email them at to let them know so they can keep you informed on training etc.  Whilst we are on the subject, well done to the Under 18 Captains for running a very successful Youth Night here during the holidays, we had approximately 30 kids age from 13-18 sleepover and partake in team building exercises along with watching some movies.  The feedback we have received is that all the Youth Members of the Club had a fantastic time.

Lions Club are running their Community Charity Golf Tournament again this year, Sunday 5th August at Royal Chinderah.  Two person Ambrose  (so that pairs, for all you non-golfers) 7.30am start for 18 holes or 8.30am start for 9 holes.  $30.00 per head, please register your interest to John Harden 02 6676 2727 or email  Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it this year, so will have to leave it to someone else to take out the wooden spoon.
