Weekly Wrap 19th December 2014

posted 18 Dec 2014, 20:09 by Admin at CabaSLSC

Hey Everyone,

COMEDY AND CANAPES AT CABA  last Saturday was a roaring success. The very witty Mandy Nolan entertained everyone with her honest and hilarious view on being female, a mum, social media and life in general. The club was a buzz and  many people were still giggling away well after the function finished. The Club would like to thank everybody who came to the function and to the local business houses for their donations. It is this continued community support that makes our club the great club that it is.  Elke Raftery did such an amazing job organising this single handedly and not only did she provide everyone with a great day but raised over $1000.00 for the Lifesaving Division.

It is with much sadness that we announce that a very elderly and much loved (and cursed) member of the surf club is set for retirement. Their commitment  and usefulness on patrol  can no longer be relied upon and its time to say goodbye. Yes, our antique tractor needs to be replaced and the club is looking for a new or second hand tractor. President Patrick Raftery would appreciate any information to help his search and can be contacted on president@cacaslsc.org.au or 0400922003.

A great way to end the week is joining us on the deck this Friday night  for great views, cool drinks, raffles, the delicious Nippers Summer BBQ.

The Office will be closed for the christmas break from today up until 5th January.

Merry Christmas to all of our Members and their families.

LIFESAVING:

Thanks for a great start to the first part of the season.  This weekend will see another SRC/Bronze Squad go through, so best of luck to them for their assessment this Saturday and congratulations to  our 11 new IRB Crewies who passed their assessment last Sunday.

Patrol: Saturday 20/12 - Patrol 5. Sunday 21/12 - Patrol 10 (am) Patrol 6 (pm)

NIPPERS:

Last Sunday the Nippers had a fun morning of wacky relays and team games to finish off this half of the season. Santa made an early visit to the children but Mrs Claus must not have helped him get dressed that morning. It seems that poor old Santa forgot his shoes and had to borrow the Vice Presidents thongs

A huge congratulations to our four  Beachies who competed on the FNC Team  at the Interbranch carnival last weekend at Catherine Hill Bay and Swansea.  There was awesome results from all four of them.

Finally I would like to wish all our Nipper Families a safe and enjoyable holiday break, hoping Santa finds you.
