Weekly Wrap 18th November 2011

posted 17 Nov 2011, 21:27 by Admin at CabaSLSC

Hey Everyone,

Tickets are selling fast for the "50th" Anniversary Dinner so if you want a ticket you need to email Rosemary Fisher at fisherer@bigpond.com this weekend.  We are down to less than 20, I have seen the Menu and it looks great!

Welcome to all our New Bronze and SRC Members, remember Bronze Training is now on Monday Nights commencing this coming Monday 21st!  We have a pretty large group which is great to see, but it is not too late join, if you would like to sign up please email training@cabaslsc.org.au.

Due to the large number of Nippers this year, there has been some talk of closing registrations after a certain date, I would like to confirm that this is now NOT happening and we will still be accepting Nipper Registrations.   There is still a huge amount of pool proficiencies outstanding and we need to process these ASAP, so if you have not done your swim proficiency, please do so this week.

This year it has been a breath of fresh air to see so many teenagers being involved in the Club at an age where they normally pursue other endeavours.   To  some it seems the Club has become their second home, with one Member Kyle  actually asking if he could move in so he can play with his beloved boats 24/7.   Hence, the IRB shed has now be renamed the "Love Shack".  Members have come to me with many theories as to why it has been renamed the "Love Shack".  There has been rumours of romance, I however believe that it is more the case of a little innocent "bromance" with the boys all openly declaring their love for each quite often!  So Troy, Kyle, Fletch, Nick, Hayden and Liam, as much as we love how much you all get along, the girls have been complaining of feeling neglected, so you might want to throw a bit of that love back their way!

Rumours from beneath tell me that the Girls Boaties crew is coming along amazingly and we should hopefully see them out on the beach amongst the waves sooner than we hoped.  Colin Bramwell is still trying to coax Jaime Sommerville into grabbing hold of an oar and we think he is slowly wearing her down,  he did try the old Nick "I like boatie chicks" Jenkins line, but it failed to impress!   Watch this space!
