Weekly Wrap 14th December 2012

posted 13 Dec 2012, 19:54 by Admin at CabaSLSC
Hey Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great week! Lots happening this weekend with our latest Bronze Squad completing their final proficiencies!  We wish you all the best of luck!  We also have proficiency for any Lifesavers who have not yet completed theirs along with any Members who have an old Bronze Award that wish to become proficient again!  So that’s Saturday Morning at 8.30 at the Club!  Both wet and dry, so bring your gear.  We also have twilight Nippers tomorrow afternoon to be followed by the Nipper Christmas Party!

Apologies to Adam Andrewartha for omitting my congratulations on him also obtaining his Gold Medallion last week! Well done Adam!

So I receive an emergency call on Tuesday evening from a frantic Troy Draman who had been called out to assist with the Search and Rescue for the alleged missing plane off Wooyung.  Apparently the rescue vehicle was about to run out of fuel whilst performing the search from the beach with an incoming tide.  So in true lifesaver fashion I immediately switched into emergency mode!  I continued serving dinner, consumed same,  finished my glass of wine, had a chat to the kids then got hubby to drive me down to the Club to pick up the fuel to rescue a now frantic Brett Draman! By this point the vehicle had run out of fuel all together with a very quick incoming tide edging closer and closer! I did manage to get to him in time, but I did have a giggle at the faces of the stressed boys upon my arrival!   By the time I arrived so had Kyle Beattie with his hilux who chose to take to the beach in his car to help with the search!  I was a little concerned the next day when Kyle contacted me to let me know he had caught crabs, I was thinking, you need to see a Doctor, thankfully he went on to explain he meant in his tyres and wheel arches!
