Weekly Wrap 13th November 2011

posted 12 Nov 2011, 14:59 by Admin at CabaSLSC

Hey Everyone,

Tickets are selling fast for the "50th" Anniversary Dinner so if you want a ticket you need to email Rosemary Fisher at fisherer@bigpond.com this weekend.

If you haven't heard already, we had a little incident down at Hastings point on Monday whilst teaching Pottsville Primary School surf education. The one and only, IRB Captain, Kyle Beattie decided to drive the IRB solo. Unfortunately Kyle's 'skills' backfired and he managed to flip the boat  which then held the motor under water for around 10 mins. Thankfully Troy Draman's iron man skills kicked in, and after a huge run up the headland and a marathon swim out to the boat, they managed to right the IRB and return safely back to the Club. We have all come to the conclusion that Kyle Beattie must have an L plate at all times on his boat for everybody else's safety.  Thank you to the onlookers at the headland that were frantically ringing the club alerting us of this little mishap. We are pleased to say on our second visit to Hastings, there was no up-turning of boats, just constant whining from Jaime Sommerville about her sore bottom and wedgie from getting thrown around!   Whilst Andy "can do" Baker is claiming that he came to their rescue and the IRB Crew were rescued by the Boaties, this is all a a figment of his imagination, it is a good story though!

Wanted!  Anyone out there with previous marching skills or just the ability to put one foot in font of the other needed to come and help out our March Past Team on Sunday Morning, please email competition@cabaslsc.org.au if you think you can help out.
