Weekly Wrap 13th May 2015

posted 12 May 2015, 21:24 by Admin at CabaSLSC

Hey Everyone,

With this week being the National Volunteering Week, I can not think of a more timely moment to say thank you to all our Volunteers within our Surf Club. With so many people doing so many various jobs in and around the Club, it is hard to remember to thank everyone, but I will give it a go.  Thank you to our Lifesavers, possibly the longest but most enjoyable hours you will spend on a beach, our Trainers and Educators, Gear and Equipment Stewards, Building Maintenance Tradies, Fundraising Co-Ordinators, Merchandise Officers,  Junior Committee, Lifesaving Committee, Officials, Competition Trainers, Water Safety Officers, Supporters and of course our amazing Board of Directors.  Whilst some roles are small and others quite large, every little thing that you all do to donate your time and skills make this Club tick and I am so proud to work for an organisation that has so many enthusiastic people helping to make it a success.  I have been involved with Cabarita Beach Surf Club for 10 years this month, and been employed here for almost 8 years, at the end of every season I always think that it cant get any better, but it just does, so keep surprising me and in another 8 years I might have another soft moment and thank you all again.

If you have read beyond the above sappy ramble, I will now continue with whats been happening and coming up. After a pretty wild Presentation Night last week, I am pleased to say that the building is still standing and other than the odd sprinkling of glitter here and there left behind by our very glamorous Boaties, the Club has returned to normal. So this weekend we have our usual live footy on the big screen this Friday Night along with our Bonus Member Draw which is $140.00.  We are closed Saturday for a Wedding and will reopen at Noon on Sunday for lunch with some live music and finish off the weekend with our Boaties Raffles, LIve Footy, Whale Spotting and Major Member Draw standing at $200.00.

Some of you may have heard that our Caba Curl Editor is looking for someone to take over this Voluntary Role, if you think you are a bit creative and have a few hours up your sleeve each month to throw it together, please drop Elke an email on to find out more about the role. Oh, and I think I missed this role further up, so Thank you as well  Elke ;)

In other breaking news, Rabbitohs won on Monday Night, sanity has been restored to Patrol 6.
